Olga Aquino was born on November 18, 1940 in El Paso Texas to Tomasa Flores. She is the eldest of 6 siblings: Margie Aguilar- Tx,Carmen Holigin-Tx, Yolanda Flores-Tx, Gabriel Flores Jr.-Ca, and Eva Alcoran-Tx. In Olga’s early years, She lived in El Paso Tx until her High School years when she moved to LeGrand CA and lived with her Grandparents Guadalupe & Hilaria Rodriguez.
Olga enjoyed living in the LeGrand area where she and her cousins enjoyed country living. In the early 1960’s Olga was working at a packing house when she came across the love of her life, Manuel. Manuel chased after her heart and they married in 1961.
Olga & Manuel are the parents of 5 wonderful children: Norma Fry (Tom), Sandra Sambueso (Robert), Annette Aquino, Manuel Aquino Jr. (Debbie), and Thomas Aquino (Kerry); 9 fantastic grandchildren, and 3 amazing great-grandchildren. When you would ask Olga what she valued the most in her life, she would answer, “Family and My husband Manuel!” They were blessed with 56 years of marriage.
From 1980 through 2006 Olga worked at Chowchilla Union High School helping many students to learn the English Language. During the 1990’s Olga and Norma began teaching English as a Second Language classes in the evening to adults that wanted to learn English.
Throughout her life she was a firm believer in “Family First!” She was always there to support her children and their friends. Olga was a lifelong supporter of Chowchilla High School. Olga and Manuel could always be found at many high school events supporting their children and later, grandchildren. Olga truly enjoyed good friends and family, good cooking, and good conversation. If you ventured by their home, it was a sure thing that you would be leaving with a full stomach and a smile!
On Friday June 17th Olga was called home to be with God and her loving husband. Olga’s services will be at St. Columba Catholic Church in Chowchilla, California. The Vigil and Rosary starting at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June, 22. A Private Family visitation will be from 3:30-4:30, then a public Visitation will be held from 4:30-6:00 pm. The Funeral services will be Thursday, June, 23 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Chowchilla District Cemetery. Please call St. Columba Catholic Church with any questions 559-665-3376.
