Doris was born February 6, 1934 to her parents Peter and Zula Hickingbottom in the township Winnsboro, Franklin Parish, Louisiana.
Doris was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and a homemaker as well as a success in business. She and her husband James of 65 years, owned and operated a retail grocery establishment. She was also proud to say that they owned and operated the Mammoth Orange Drive-In for 26 years, located on Highway 99 and Avenue 22 1/2. Many people came to say that the Orange served the best hamburgers to be found anywhere in the Central Valley.
Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband James Glenn Stiggins Sr. of 65 years; her son Donald Keith Stiggins; her father Peter Deich Hickingbottom and her mother Zula Belle (Sullivan) Hickingbottom.
Doris is survived by her son James "Jim" Glenn Stiggins Jr. (Jeanne); 3 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She also leaves behind 4 siblings, 2 sisters and 2 brothers, and their respective spouses, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service for Doris will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Chowchilla District Cemetery Pavilion, 23359 Road 14 1/2, Chowchilla, CA 93610.
