As a young man, Melvin earned his Bachelor's Degree while finding the time to pursue his passion: joining musical and theater groups as a singer. He then went on to work in the Pharmaceutical
Industry where he became a Process Specialist; a career that stemmed 29 years.
Melvin loved his church and was a faithful parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Chino, which led him to be an active part of the Filipino Ministry founded by his sister Vicky.
He loved good music and was a huge fan of The Beatles, and was dubbed by his friends as Cebu's Paul McCartney. Melvin was a huge Lakers and Magic Johnson fan. With cooking as his hobby, he was famous for feeding family and friends with his signature liempo and pancit. He will always be remembered for his jokes, making people smile, and always going out of his way to help others.
Melvin leaves behind to cherish his memory his beautiful wife Claribel Ybanez; his son Antonio Sebastian Ybanez and wife Sheena Martinez Avena; and daughter Gabriela Camille Ybanez.
