Taylorsville, Utah - Marilyn ("Tui"), age 51, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023. Marilyn was born November 18, 1971 in Bellflower, California to David Edwin Salazar and Rosemarie Gonzales. She grew up in Cypress, California and graduated from Cypress High School, class of 1990. She's always been quite the social butterfly!
Marilyn is preceded in death by her father, David E. Salazar. She is survived by her daughter, Penina Valenciano (Joel); grandsons, Jayden & Jack; mother, Rosemarie Blair; brother, David E. Salazar, Jr.; sisters, Jeanette D. Albers (David), and Loretta M. Brazelton (Wade); nephews & niece, Michael, Andrew, Catherine, Daniel, Caleb, Coy, Bronson, & Collin; and great-nephews & great-nieces, Henry, Elowyn, Iris, & Astro.
True to our Latin bloodline, Marilyn was very passionate about many things in life. She was protective of the ones she loved, very family oriented, enjoyed cooking, and completely believed in her own version of always being prepared for anything in the way of her 'bag of tricks.' If you needed something she most likely had it on hand. She loved her fur babies, Tama Toa & Tama Malosi who were waiting for her to return to them. Marilyn worked for JetBlue Airlines for 16 years; she took her job serious and was very devoted. She always went beyond the call of duty; she invented "Tui Tutorials" to help fellow employees. Wherever she went, she left her special stamp. Collecting specialty items was always a favorite when she was out shopping - she loves Hello Kitty, specialty bags, & specialty drinkware. Her biggest passion was spending time with her grandson, Jack - his "Tutu." She and Jack have a strong, close bond she nurtured from day one! Penina gave her the best gift ever, in Jack. Their mother/daughter relationship is solid with much love for each other. Their shared message of love is "Luv U Man." Marilyn will be missed by so many - friends, family, cousins, aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, & co-workers. Until we meet again - we love you, Marilyn!
