Luis Flores, age 91, was born on Saturday, July 29, 1933, in El Paso, Texas to Luis Flores and Esperanza Contreras Flores. Surrounded by his family, Luis passed away peacefully on Monday, August 19, 2024, in Montclair, California.
Luis Flores was a Survey Party Chief, for the Associated Engineers in Ontario for 43 years. He worked on hundreds of projects, including the original survey for Chaffey College and the California Speedway.
Luis Flores has been a long-time resident of Montclair, CA since 1959.
He served as the Planning Commissioner for the Montclair City Council for 42 years and also served as Vice-Chair through the conclusion of his final term on June 24, 2019.
Luis also served as an Usher at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Claremont for several years.
Luis is survived by his daughter MaryEllen Teri Flores; his son Michael Flores; and his son Raymond Flores; his sister Angela Ruiz and his brother Mauro Flores; his 8 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.
Luis was preceded in death by his Beloved wife MaryEllen G. Flores; his father Luis Flores and his mother Esperanza Contreras Flores; his brother Emiliano Flores and his brother Manuel Flores.
A Visitation Service for Luis will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Chino, 13002 South Central Ave, Chino, CA 91710. A Recitation of the Rosary will occur Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 13002 South Central Ave, Chino, CA 91710. A Funeral Mass will occur Wednesday, September 4, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church | @OLAClaremont, 435 N Berkeley Ave, Claremont, CA 91711. A Committal Service will occur Wednesday, September 4, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 444 E Lexington Ave, Pomona, CA 91766.
