Joe Silva

Joe Silva (Amável José Pereira da Silva) was born in Porto, Portugal on March 31, 1939 to Manuel Pereira da Silva and Maria Joaquina da Silva, passed away peacefully in his home in Chino, California surrounded by his loving family and friends on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the age of 79. Joe migrated from Portugal to Brazil when he was 7 years old. He married his wife, Dita in 1958 and in 1960 migrated to Hanford, California then to Corona and shortly after moved to Chino, California in 1972 where he began working on a dairy farm as a milker and later worked as a land inspector for over 25 years. He enjoyed bowling, gardening, listening to music, playing dominos and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dita Silva; his children Michael Silva of Washington, Mitchell Silva of Flamingo Heights, and Sandra Mendes (Manuel) of Chino; his grandchildren Julie Gresham, Jason Silva, Christopher Silva, Ashley Mendes and Heather Mendes; his great-grandchild Evan Blain; his sisters Augusta Valente (Francisco) and Helia Costa. Joe will always be held dear in the hearts of his loving family and friends and will be missed by all. A Visitation and a rosary will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Chino. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary Church, 12686 Central Ave., Chino, Ca., followed by his burial at Bellevue Memorial Park, 1240 W. G St., Ontario, Ca.
