Zola Catherine Clodfelter Thompson went to be with her Lord and Savior January 6, 2017. Mrs. Thompson was born February 9, 1919 in Iredell Co., the daughter of the late William Milas Clodfelter and Callie Estelle Jones Clodfelter. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Sherwood Craven Thompson, her daughter, Marcelle Thompson Efird, a son, William David Thompson, and a granddaughter, Chasity Thompson Crum, five brothers and four sisters.
She was a resident of Five Oaks Manor, Concord. Prior to moving to Five Oaks, she resided on E. 23rd Street in Kannapolis. She was a member of Blackwelder Park Baptist Church where she served her lord as a Sunday school teacher. She retired from Fieldcrest Canon where she worked in the Number 1 Sewing Room.
Survivors include her children; Sandra Thompson Clark of Vicksburg, MS, Gary Thompson (Tracy) of Concord, and Eric Thompson of China Grove; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; and fourteen great-great-grandchildren.
Services are planned for 1 o’clock p.m. on Friday, January 13 at Blackwelder Park Baptist Church. The Reverend Phil Goble, Jr. will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the church from 11 o'clock a.m. until 1 o'clock p.m. at the church.
