William Ray Cline

Bill was born on November 19, 1929 in Rowan County and was the son of the late William Luther Cline and Grace Barnhardt Cline.

Educated in the Rowan County Schools, he was a lifelong member of Concordia Lutheran Church, where he served on the Church Council, served as an usher and operated the church elevator.

Mr. Cline served his country in the US Army. He enjoyed gardening and taking care of the Fellowship Ballpark, where he kept the grass cut properly for the games. He retired from Hoechst Celanese after many years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his brother Harry Cline.

Those with cherished memories are his wife of 65 years, Hazel Pinkston Cline, his son Harold Cline, daughter Kathy Patrick, grandchildren, Miriam Stirewalt (Cory) and Elizabeth Rodgers (Travis), His great grandchildren are Caleb and Claire Stirewalt and Mason and Brooks Rodgers.

A private burial is scheduled for Friday, December 30, 2022 at 10:30 am at Concordia Lutheran Cemetery, with funeral service at 11:00 in the sanctuary of Concordia Lutheran Church, with Rev. Ken Reed, officiating. Visitation will follow immediately after the funeral in the Family Life Center.
