Born in Rowan County on September 17, 1940, he was the son of the late Paul Alexander Overcash and Nita Garver Overcash.
Tommy graduated high school and retired from Fieldcrest-Cannon Mills after 40 years of service.
He enjoyed making family videos, entertaining others, riding motorcycles, attending car shows and bluegrass music. He also assistant with the Boy Scouts at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church.
Tommy was a member of the Allen-Graham Masonic Lodge #695.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Overcash.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Agatha Elaine Parson Overcash; sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy Overcash, Jr. “Peanut” (Cynthia Edwards Overcash) and Todd Overcash (Bonnie Ann Overcash); two brothers, Kay (Glenda) Overcash and Wayne (Ann) Overcash; and two sisters, Diane (Wayne) Kane and Sarah (Jimmy) Higgins.
Tommy is further survived by his four grandchildren, Jason Overcash (Holly), Tamisha Benton (Jonathan), Tabitha Furr (Roddie) and Brian Overcash (Macy); and eleven great-grandchildren, Gage and Karli Overcash, Waylon and Bristol Benton, Eastin, Gunner and Tripp Furr, Laci, Brayden, Milli and Molli Overcash.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home.
The funeral service will begin at 12:30 PM in the Northcrest Chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church 750 Mt Moriah Church Rd, China Grove, NC 28023.
