Rose Waddell Adams, beloved mother, grandmother- great-great grandmother, and servant of the Lord, entered her eternal rest on April 12, 2025, at the age of 98. Born on July 20, 1926, Rose lived a life marked by unwavering faith, selfless service, and a deep commitment to sharing God’s love with all who knew her.
A devoted member of Landis Baptist Church, Rose dedicated her life to ministry and service teaching her Sunday School class, singing in the choir and with the WMU. Her gentle spirit and fierce faith touched countless lives throughout her lifetime. She worked at China Grove Cotton Mill, Charlotte Christian Rehabilitation Center for Women and the Salvation Army. She was a lifelong caregiver in both spirit and action, most notably serving as the caretaker for the beloved Morrow Graham, mother of evangelist Billy Graham. Rose's heart for service also reached around the globe— she helped establish both housing and a church for Vietnamese residents in Charlotte NC, creating a haven of hope and community for generations.
Rose was not only a woman of action but also a woman of words. She co-authored the cherished devotional Treasured Moments with Franklin and Billy Graham, offering spiritual encouragement and wisdom to readers worldwide.
Rose’s arrival party in heaven included her parents, John and Ruth Lee Waddell; her devoted husband, Paul Adams; three sisters; two brothers; and numerous dear souls she lovingly guided toward heaven. Her heart undoubtedly was full of joy to once again see her sons, John and Jerry Bailey, as well as her cherished son-in-law, Jerry Allman.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Judye Allman, sister Rachel Bunn and daughter-in-law Julia Owen. Also, by her grandchildren Kris Allman (Steve Goodnight), Kimberly Bailey Noonan, James (Richard) Bailey, Kim Dawn Riggle, Bonnie Chapman (Ron) and Keri Allman. She leaves a legacy of love carried on by her nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Special thanks to her guardian angels Inci, Andy, the Liberty Commons Staff, Colleen, Sherry, Mary, Martha, Nadean, Raye, Shirley and Hung.
To all who knew her, Rose’s life was a testimony to grace, faith, and unwavering devotion to the Lord. She loved us, prayed for us and kept us in her heart. If she were here today, she would gently remind us all: “Keep your eyes on the Lord.”
A life well-lived, a servant well-loved, and now, a soul well-rewarded.
