Rebecca "Becky" Whitman Albright

Mrs. Rebecca "Becky" Whitman Albright 77, formerly of China Grove, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Genesis Eldercare of Salisbury after a long fought battle with Alzheimers. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Born on December 21, 1937 in Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rhoda Pennell Whitman. Educated in the Gaston County Schools, she was employed in the textile industry, and later at the V.A. Medical Center and Rowan Technical College. Mrs. Albright was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Landis, NC.

In February 1954, Becky married Bobby Joe Albright. They loved to travel, highlighted by at trip to Israel, which they talked about for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Bobby Joe Albright, who passed on September 26, 2002 and by her brother Roy Whitman and sisters Helen Keller and Carolyn Barbee.

Survivors include a son, Faron Joe Albright (Bonnie) of China Grove and daughters, Rita Biggerstaff (Dennis) of Rockwell and Shayne Brown(Charlie) of China Grove. She was also survived by six grandsons, Wayne Biggerstaff, Eric and Darryl Albright, Ronnie, Tony and Shannon James. Also surviviving are eleven great grandchhildren.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 6:00 til 8:00 at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove with funeral on Monday at 1:00 also at the funeral home with Rev. Hazel Rollins, minister.
