Mrs. Rachel Garver Efird, 87 of China Grove, passed away on February 11, 2013 at Presbyterian Hospital. Born on March 5, 1925 in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Myrtle Goodman Garver. Mrs. Efird was a graduate of Landis High School and was a longtime active member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church. She and her husband were co-owners of Efird's Upholstery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joe C. Efird on December 6,1999 and a grandchild, Wayne Page on December 14, 1971 Those left to cherish her memory are her sons; Elbert Efird (Linda Anne) and Roy Efird (Dolores) both of China Grove and Henry Efird (Cheryl Ryan) of Mooresville, daughters; Mary Ann Lambert (John), Lois Page (Larry), Janet Parsons (Steve), Connie Corriher (Tony C.) and Linda Rose Childress (Jimmy) all of China Grove. She is also survived by a brother Hoyle Garver (Virginia) of China Grove, sisters Pauline Brady and Ollie Morrow (Floyd) both of China Grove, Wilma Adcock (C.L.) of Kannapolis and Sarah Rebanell Meisimer of Cooleemee, 22 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 12 step great grandchildren and 4 step great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 6:00 til 8:00 at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove with funeral on Thursday at 3:00 at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church with Rev. Joseph Tallent, minister. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, 750 Mt. Moriah Church Rd. China Grove, NC 28023.
