Nancy Ann Rouse

Nancy Michael Rouse, of Salisbury, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 12, 2020. She died at Compass Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Spencer, following a long illness. She was 87 years old.

Nancy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother who loved cooking, gardening, and anything to do with her family. She was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Salisbury. Nancy also formerly worked as a Teacher’s Assistant at China Grove Elementary School.

Nancy was preceded in death by her son, Michael Rouse, and by two sisters. Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Marvin Rouse; daughter Sharon Marie Rouse, of Greenville, NC; daughter Mary Ann Rouse, of Charlotte (and husband Jeff Sonier) ; daughter-in-law, Debbie Rouse, of Kannapolis (wife of Michael Rouse); and three grandchildren, Natalie Sonier, Crystal Branem and Amber James. Additionally, Nancy is survived by a great granddaughter, Emarie James.

Nancy’s home going service will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Gospel Light Baptist Church in Salisbury, with Pastor Anthony Wike officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gospel Light Baptist Church 2121 Mooresville Road, Salisbury, NC.
