Marcus "M.D." McKnight Jr.

In addition to his parents, Mr. McKnight was preceded in death by his son Jeff McKnight.

M.D. was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Landis for many years. While attending there, he served on the Church Council, taught Sunday School for over 40 years, and enjoyed going to the senior’s group in his later years.

Many who knew Mr. McKnight will remember him as the man who always had a smile. No matter where life took him, he seemed to always make a friend. Whether he was having friends over on a Saturday night to play music together or traveling to Myrtle Beach’s Bluegrass music festival with his wife, M.D. loved Bluegrass music. Mr. McKnight also served honorably in the United States Army Reserves for 25 years.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 69 years, Mary Ann McKnight; daughter, Scarlett McKnight; Daughter-in-law, Laura McKnight; brother, Donald McKnight; and sister, Dorris Sechler, and Grace Reynolds.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 16, 2024 from 12:00 -1:00 PM with a funeral service to follow. These services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Landis, NC. Burial will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park following the service.

The family request that any donations be made to Trinity Lutheran Church of Landis, or either a heart or cancer fund of the donor's choice.
