Mrs. Maggie Elizabeth Luke Dixon

Mrs. Maggie Elizabeth Luke Dixon, 86 of Concord, passed away on Wednesday February 12, 2014 at Country Home Nursing Home. Born on September 23, 1927 in Homerville, Ga. She was the daughter of the late Samuel T. Luke and Augusta Register. Mrs. Dixon was a member of Life Church in Charlotte, where she was a Sunday School teacher. She received her BA degree in education from Florida State Christian College. She taught at Pathway Christian School in Pomona Ca., Calvary Christian School in Ontario,Calif, Hickory Christian School, First Assembly Christian School in Concord and retired from First Assembly Christian School in Charlotte after 38 years of service. Those left to cherish her memory is her husband of 65 years, Charles Jacob "Chuck" Dixon, to whom she married on March 5, 1948, her daughters Diane Dixon Tucker (Tommy) and Doreen Dixon Anderson (Verlin), both of Concord. She was also survived by her brothers, Gene Luke of Cleveland Tenn., Rev. Grady Luke and James Luke, both of Atlanta, Ga. and sister Virginia Ingle of Statesville. Her grandchildren are Darby Elizabeth Verbos, Cressel Anderson, Caleb Anderson and Augusta Anderson, and great grandchild Dixon Anderson.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 til 7:00 at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove with funeral at 7:00 also at the funeral home with Rev. Verlin Anderson and Rev. Julie Tucker, ministers. Burial will be on Wednesday at 2:00 at Pine Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, 8791 Hwy 18 South Laurel Springs, NC 28644
