Born on January 29, 1942 in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Pope and Maggie Fox Pope.
Educated in the Rowan County Schools, she was a longtime member of Memorial Independent Baptist Church in Landis where she worked in the nursery.
Earlier in her life, she worked at China Grove Cotton Mills and then later at Open Door Baptist Academy in Richfield. Her church was very important to her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Johnny Fleming.
Those with cherished memories include her sons Rick Fleming (Lisa) and Randy Fleming. Also surviving are her brother Thomas Pope and sisters Dorothy Jackson and Carol Stapleton. Her grandchildren are Greg, Caitlin, Josiah, Joshua, Miranda and Jonathan. Great grandchildren are Caden, Chloe, Ansley, Chesney, Landon, Brentley, Lakelynn, Eko, Uriah, Serenity, Jenesis, Charlie Monroe and Harper Wryn.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February, 11, 2023 from 10:00 till 11:00 at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove with funeral to follow at 11:00 am also at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Roberson, officiating.
