his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on May 2, 1945 in Stanly County, he was the son of the late Harry Lee and Ethel Lucille Wagner Beaver.
Dr. Beaver received his education as a minister having graduated from Wingate College with a Bachelor’s
degree in Theology, Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute, Midwest Baptist Seminary and received his Doctorate Degree from Luther Rice Seminary. He began his ministry having served at different churches in Missouri and South Carolina, and then came back to China Grove to found and build Main Street Baptist Church until his retirement.
After his retirement he then went on to become an intentional interim for four different churches. Larry would always volunteer to help anyone who needed it. His family and his Lord were very important to him.
Those with cherished memories are his wife of 57 years, Elaine Perry Beaver; sons, William Lee “Billy” Beaver (Lisa), and Michael Dean Beaver (Jennifer); daughters, Lisa Beaver Tucker (Tony) and Crystal Beaver Funderburke (Mark); brother, Terry Beaver (Sue); sisters, Jan Young (Mike) and Carol Phillips (Bruce). Also surviving him are his grandchildren, Jesse Beaver (Teaya), Clinton Beaver (Carie), Brandon Tucker (Amanda), T. J. Tucker (Christina), Lewis Funderburke, Aaron Funderburke, Adam Funderburke (Taylor Lyman), Brooklyn Davis, Leita Davis, Tristan Beaver (Sierra Griggs) and Harley Beaver. Great Grandchildren are Lawson Beaver, Salem Beaver, Everly Davis, Noah Davis, Parker Coe, Cheyanna Tucker, Branson Tucker, Addie Tucker, Jonathan Tucker, Leslie Tucker and Jacob Funderburke.
Visitation and Service: Visitation will be on Sunday, August 28, 2022 from 2 until 4 p.m. at Main Street Baptist Church 1615 North Main St.,China Grove with funeral services to follow at 4 p.m. also at the church with Rev. John Brown and Rev. Dr. Jim Strickland officiating. Burial will be on Monday, August 29, 2022 at 2 p.m. at West Lawn Memorial Park.
