Judy Caroline (Davis) Barnhardt

Mrs. Judy Caroline Davis Barnhardt, age 73 of Salisbury, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Atrium Health – Cabarrus. Born September 29, 1947 in Rowan County, Judy was the daughter of the late William “Bill” Davis and Edith Honbarger. In addition to her parents preceding her in death, her sister, Virginia Davis also recently passed away. Judy was a longtime member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church where she was church secretary for many years.

Judy spent over 20 years at China Grove Elementary School as a teacher’s assistant for grades K-6. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Judy was an excellent cook and loved to bake. She was well known for her baking skills, but her homemade fried apple pies were the absolute favorite of her grandchildren. Judy had a servant’s heart and her care and compassion for others was first and foremost in her life.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 53 years, Royce Barnhardt and her children, Janice Gordon (Michael) and Keith Barnhardt (Milissa) along with her precious grandchildren, Lance, Krista and Tanner Gordon and Dallas and English Barnhardt. She also leaves behind her brothers, Billy Davis (Debbie) and Terry Davis (Barbara) and sisters, Nancy Beaver (Eddie) and Margaret Varnadore.

Visitation for Judy will be on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 12:00 – 2:00pm at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church. Memorial Service will follow at 2:00pm officiated by Pastors Tim Kineuss, John Woodard and Joseph Tallent. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that you kindly remember Judy with memorials in her honor to Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, 750 Mt. Moriah Church Road, China Grove, NC 28023.
