Born June 27, 1948, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Paul Ridenhour and Doris Marie McSwain Bost.
Miss Bost was a 1966 graduate of South Rowan High School, and 1970 graduate of
Appalachian State University earning a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.
She taught 30 years in the Durham Public School System, having taught at Lakeview (5 years),
Merrick-Moore (15 years), and Easley Elementary Schools (10 years), primarily teaching 4th
grade. She was named teacher of the year twice, once at Merrick-Moore Elementary and the
other at Easley Elementary.
She is a life-long member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, China Grove.
Survivors include her best friend for 50 years and roommate, Connie L. Duke of Durham, NC,;
brother Lanny M. Bost (Lang) of China Grove; nephew Jonathan (J.T.) Bost (Shannon) of
Salisbury; great nephews and nieces, Elise Bost, Thomas Bost, Brandon Blackburn, Bailey
Bost, and Reagan Bost; and her pet cat, Meeko.
Service: 3 p.m. Monday, August 31st, 2015, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, China Grove,
conducted by the Rev. Phil Thorsen. Internment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Sunday, August 30th, 2015, at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove.
Also, 2-2:30 p.m. prior to the service at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. The remainder of the time,
the family will be at the home of her nephew at 358 Maple Ridge Circle, Salisbury.

Family Pavillion, 4023 N. Roxboro St., Durham, NC 27704. Other memorials may be made to
