James Roy Clardy "Jim", age 77 of Salisbury, NC passed away on September 05, 2023. Born on December 02,1945 in Golconda, Illinois, to Herman and Alice Clardy. The family moved to Chicago, Illinois when he was 8 years old where he lived until his retirement from the American Can Company in 1996. After 2 years of retirement, he relocated to NC.
He was married to Virginia Beatrice Clardy "Ginny", for 39 years who passed away in 2011. He is survived by his 4 Children, James T. Clardy (Christine), Laura L. Clardy (Charlie), Robert S. Clardy (Shari) and Desiree T. Jemison. His step-children, Ron Ralls, Harold Ralls, Connie Alexander and Tammy Goettl. Grandchildren, Austin Jemison, Dylan Jemison, Creed Clardy and Julianna Clardy.
He was a mechanic by trade and an avid car and motorcycle enthusiast. He always owned a motorcycle. In perfect weather, you could find him riding his around and taking yearly motorcycle trips riding with his 2 sons all over the southeast.
He was quite the comic and really enjoyed making people laugh.
He volunteered at a local farm, which is a haven for abused horses.
He loved his children and enjoyed visiting with them and sharing a meal together each Sunday. It was a great tradition that will be missed.
He also loved spending time on his daughters horse farm in Alabama and helping her care for them.
He just plain loved his family and his time spent with them. He will be sorely missed by everyone whose life he touched.
A visitation will be on Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 1:00 - 2:00 at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove, NC, with a memorial service at 2:00 to follow.
