Salisbury-Helen Smith Hall, 82, passed away Monday afternoon, April 22, 2013, at Genesis Healthcare, where she had been a resident. Born March 15, 1931 in Kannapolis, she was the daughter of the late Willie Ray and Mary Marie Carter Smith. She attended China Grove High School and was a 1953 graduate of Salisbury Business College, where she earned a degree in Business Education. Mrs. Hall was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church for 25 years, later joining St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, where she had remained a member. Earlier in life, Mrs. Hall had worked for Ramsey Realty and Life of Virginia Insurance Company, but most important to her, remained a devoted homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Edwin Hall, Sr.
Family members include her son, Eddie Hall and wife, Wanda, of Salisbury; her daughter, Teresa Houck and husband, Steve, Richmond, VA; sisters, Evelyn Clodfelter, of Lexington, Carolyn Shutt and Wilma Hogge, both of Edenton; brother Rev Don Smith, Fayetteville, GA and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 28, 2013, from 12:30-2:00 pm at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Carroll Robinson and Rev. Don Smith. Burial will follow in Rowan Memorial Park.
