Born on January 26, 1939 in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Clarence Hardin Walker and Minnie Viola Drake Walker.
Educated in the Rowan County Schools, he served his country in the US National Guard. Glenn retired from Phillip Morris after many years of service. In his spare time, he was an avid antique automobile restoration enthusiast. Nature’s creations brought him much pleasure, as he could grow anything. He certainly had a green thumb. Glenn followed NHRA drag racing, having gone to many of their events. He and his wife Betty enjoyed traveling. They visited 6 continents in their travels.
Those with cherished memories include his wife of 65 years, Betty Lawson Walker, his sons Hardy Walker (Jennie) and Britt Walker(Melinda) and daughter Julie Walker Beaver. He was survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 3:00 at West Lawn Memorial Park.
