I will always remember the good talks Pastor and Herb had when he came for a visit.  It was a Blessing to get to know Pastor and Alice and be a member of Good Shepherd.  My Thoughts and Prayers are with Alice and the Archer Family.

I had the pleasure of meeting Rev. Archer and attending his church when visiting my mother-in-law.  He was a wonderful man and we enjoyed his sermons. He will be greatly missed. Condolences to the family.

Alice & family wanted to let you know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We thought a lot of Freddie and have a lot of fond memories of him back years ago when he and a group of youth from Concordia ran around together.

It was sad to learn of Pastor Archer's passing.  Fred was a very dear friend and seminary classmate of mine that will be sorely missed by many people.  Fred was a TRUE SOLDIER OF THE CROSS ! He was given the nick name by his friends and associates "Fearless Fred" because he preached and taught the scriptures as they are written-nothing more and nothing less.  The Holy Gospel came loud and clear as he proclaimed The Word Of Truth with love in a dynamic style.  It was a pleasure to be associated with Fred and his devoted wife Alice and their children Jenny ,  Amy , Gregg and John.  May the Holy Spirit give comfort to each one of you and all of us during this difficult time.

I was sad to hear of Fred's passing, but I know that he is with the Lord and we will one day see him again.
He was a gifted man of God and shepherd our little flock in Hendersonville, NC for many years.
"Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life." Rev. 2:10.  Fred has his crown of life.
Praying God will comfort you, Alice and Children, during this difficult time.

Alice and family. Rhonda and I share your loss of and rejoice in the victory for Fred.  We recall many times our gatherings and sharing God's Word and love. You are in our prayers. The blessing we have is knowing that we will be reunited with Jesus in heaven. Fred loved to serve God and His people. And he loved to tell me what was happening with his children and baseball. He enabled me to become a North Carolinian and I am proud to say I still am. Try as hard as he could, he never did get me to eat grits. May God continue to bring you His love and comfort. Thank you for sharing Fred with so many as he brought God's Word and love to many others.

Many years ago, after he moved from Hendersonville, I saw Fred and Alice at a restaurant after we had been to church. They were here visiting Luther Ridge. The sermon I had just listened to, was telling us to thank the person that was responsible for investing in our walk with Christ.  Well with in minutes after we left church, I was sitting right next to that person! I had not seen him in years! I sat down beside him and was in tears! I had the opportunity to say thank you for starting my Christian walk.  I was so overwhelmed  to think I was just in deep thought of Fred ,and God saw fit to put us face to face after all those years.  I needed to say thank you, and I think Fred needed to hear it. God is still at work in our lives daily. This chance encounter showed me that God is very much in control.Rest in Jesus arms dearest friend. Well done true and faithful servant.

I always knew Mr. Archer as a good man, stubborn in his convictions, steadfast in his faith, and whose personal contributions touched many lives, include my own both past and present.  God bless you all during this time of loss  and celebration of new life.  

Many are the happy times our families shared since 1969. Fred always supported my mom and dad spiritually and as a dear friend. He and Alice drove up to administer Holy Communion to mom and dad innumerable times after my parents health declined. Fred served his Lord faithfully and joyfully.  Tom and I send our sincere and heart felt prayers to Alice and all their children and grandchildren. God bless you all.
