Mrs. Evelyn Mae Cook Beaver, 89 formerly of Safrit Road, Salisbury, passed away on Wednesday July 6, 2011 at the Laurels of Salisbury, Born on June 2, 1922 in Rowan County , she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Cora Burnette Cook. Educated in the Rowan County Schools, she was a lifelong member of Landis Baptist Church where she was a member of the Come and Dine Sunday School Class and the Mildred Arrowood Circle. In her younger years she served faithfully in the nursery and she loved to send cards to encourage people. She retired from Mooresville Mills after 22 years. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and other children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Lee Beaver on August 1972, They were married on June 1, 1940. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Paul and Alvin Cook and two sisters, Sylvia Spears and Carrie Waddell.
Surviving her are her sons Kyle Beaver and wife Joyce of Mooresville and Robert ( Ricky)Beaver and wife Amy of Salisbury. Granddaughters, Angie Mayhew and husband Paul , Leigh Ann parker and husband Douglas, Cara and Lara Beaver, and Grandson Gabriel Beaver and wife Holly and three Great Grandsons, Jakob Parker, Addison Beaver and Maddox Beaver.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 7:00 til 8:30 at Landis Baptist Church with service on Friday at 3:00 also at the church with Rev. Billy Honeycutt Minister.
