Denise Deal Taylor of Salisbury, NC passed away after a long illness on Thursday, November 23, 2023 at her home. Denise was born in Mecklenburg County to the late Oscar Deal and Margaret Wilhelm Deal on December 12, 1954. She was a graduate of South Rowan High School and attended Rowan County Community College. Denise worked at Linn Mills, Merle Norman Cosmetics, Leonard’s Jewelers and was a long-time phlebotomist with Dr. John Blount of Salisbury, NC. Denise enjoyed cooking and cake decorating. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed trips to the mountains and the beach. She was a long-time member of Gospel Light Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and be involved in church activities.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 46 years Sheldon Taylor, daughter Christie Taylor Walker (Anthony) of Fayetteville, NC, grandsons Austin Taylor of Salisbury and Zack Taylor of Fayetteville, NC. Also surviving her is her brother Melvin Deal (Linda) of Salisbury and sister Kim Cameron (Garry) of Salisbury. Also surviving her are niece Natalie Cameron Poole (Donnell) and their children Reese Poole, Kain Littleton, and Jett Poole, her nephew Nick Cameron (Mandi) and their children Jace Cameron and Colson Cameron. Also surviving her is her brother in law, Daryl Taylor (Lolita) of Franklinton, NC and their children, Rafael Taylor, of Franklinton, Raquel Scharkopf (Kyle) of Charlotte, Briana Scharkopf of Charlotte and KC Scharkopf of Charleston, S.C. Also surviving are niece Michelle (Travis) and their children Kaitlyn (Hunter) of Concord, Avery of WIlkesboro, Brad (Hannah) of Salisbury and Wesley of Salisbury and nephew Jeff Deal.
Visitation will be on Saturday, November 25, 2023 from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove with funeral services scheduled for Sunday, November 26, 2023 at 1:30 pm at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Hildebrand, officiating. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.
