Clinton Delane Turman

Clinton Delane Turman, age 80 of China Grove passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Atrium Health Cabarrus. He was born on August 1,1943 in Statesville and was the son of the late Jay Lee Turman Sr. and Mabel May Goodman Turman. He was a 1961 graduate of West Rowan High School and served his country in the US Army. He was a member of Dayspring Community Church in China Grove. He worked for many years and retired from Hoechst Celanese. He was a longtime member for 41 years of Locke Fire Department Station 1 where he was assistant fire chief. In his spare time, he enjoyed working in the yard, gardening and cutting wood. He particularly loved being with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Kimberly King and his brother Jay Lee Turman Jr. and sisters Kay Smith and Marlene Hinceman. Those with cherished memories are his wife of 59 years, Susan Rary Turman and his daughter Jennifer Morrison (Scott) as well as grandchildren Brooke Morrison, Karlie King, Rachel King and Carrie King. He was also survived by his sister Sherry Towell and son in law Robert King as well as sister in law Gay Turman.

Visitation will be on Sunday at Dayspring Community Church from 2:00 till 3:30 with funeral to follow at 3:30 also at the church with Pastor Gerry Steedley, officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
