Mr. Arnold Eugene Hurlocker, Sr. age 80 of Salisbury, passed away in the early hours of Thursday, July 23, 2020 at this home. Born March 28, 1940 in Cabarrus County, Arnold was the son of the late Harvey Wilson Hurlocker and Gertrude Crisco Hurlocker. He was also preceded in death by his son, Bobby Hurlocker and numerous brothers and sisters.
Arnold was a master carpenter and woodworker and spent his career in the field, first working for Goodman Lumber and later with Everglo Signs, where he retired from. In his spare time, Arnold loved to work on cars and had an exceptional gift for anything with an engine – if it was broke, he could or would fix it. He loved to “tinker” with lawn mowers – working on them and repairing them gave him such a sense of satisfaction. But most of all, Arnold loved his family. He was a true family man who loved spending time with them, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His family was his world.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Vicki Honeycutt Hurlocker, his sons, Arnold E. Hurlocker, Jr. (Sylvia), Christopher Hurlocker (Tiffany), Harvey Hurlocker and daughters, Wanda Marshall (Ronnie), Genia Walton (Ricky) and Kathy Skinner (Jimmy). He also leaves behind ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren along with three step-grandchildren, six step great-grandchildren and two step great-great grandchildren.
Graveside service for Arnold will be on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 10:00am at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.linn-honeycutt.com. Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Hurlocker.
