Bill is survived by his wife Winnie Anker, his children Karen (Alex) and Laura Anker. His grandchildren Darren (Julie), Vanessa, Colton (Marissa), Kaitlyn (Eric), Bailey (Henky), Jared, Janae, Lakiya and Chad.
He was predeceased by his parents, John Henry Anker (1990), Elizabeth (Suijker) Anker (2003), his sister Jennie Veldhuizen (2016), brothers Gilbert Anker (2020) and Marty Anker (1989).
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022, from 1pm - 8pm, and
February 25, 2022, from 10am - 12pm at Henderson’s Funeral Home, 45901 Victoria Ave in Chilliwack.
A Funeral service will be held at 1pm in the Chapel of Henderson’s, with a graveside service following at 2pm at Chilliwack Cemeteries.
Pallbearers are – Alex Van Herk, Darren Neels, Colton, Jared, and Chad Van Herk and Art Arends.
Honorary Pallbearers – Richard, John, Gary and Jacob Anker, Sam Klaassen, and Jack Neels.
Bill left New Jersey to open a general Store in Newkirk, Iowa and worked at “Anker Hay” In Sumas, Washington. He then ran a gas station in Rosedale B.C. He was known for his smile, customer service and singing.
He loved his wife of 57 years. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy! Bill was so loved and will be missed by his family and everyone who knew him.
