"Wonderful Wanda" as we referred to her.  I was one of many of Wanda's students.  I have so many memories, I remember one page handouts, a reassuring smile to build confidence in a young nurse's hand before attempting her first injection.  She treated us with respect and love.  I can only feel that we, her students, were all her children.  I did have the chance to see her lately, hug her, give her a kiss and thank her for helping to set the standard of how I should be as a nurse.  I am thankful she was able to have a peaceful  passing with loved ones around.   I will continue to try to " strive for excellence" Wanda.  Thank you  Anita

Dear Bob and Family,

On behalf of the Cross cousins from Australia we would like to express our deepest sympathy the loss in your lives of Wanda.

A group of five of us, Peter,Kerry,Clinton,Terry and Adeline had the happy privilege to meet Wanda and Bob at Robert, Sylvie and Ashley's home at Rocklin in 2009. Wanda and Bob kindly travelled from Chiliwack to Rocklin to visit us. We all had a great time together. One of Kerry's fondest memories was, when Wanda commented how much fun it is to stand and hug Clinton who is 6 feet 5 inches tall and Wanda was just above his waist height. We all had a good laugh, one of many!
Mum (Cath) and Dad (Terry) spoke lovingly, highly and fondly of Wanda and their times together in England. Dad thoroughly enjoyed seeing Wanda, Marjory and family again in Canada.

My condolences to you, Bob and all of the family. Wanda was my cousin who I only met once in person in 1986 on holiday in England with my Dad (Wanda's Uncle Terry), my mum Cath and sister Sandra. It was a trip of a lifetime which was fondly labelled the England, Australia & Canada reunion. You both were so lovely and I still have very fond memories of my cousin Wanda. RIP Wanda.

Wanda was my first year nursing instructor way back in day. I am so saddened to hear of her passing and ultimate irony that she should have suffered from dementia when she dedicated so much toward her own continued learning and to the teaching of others. She embodied what we aspired be as future nurses: knowledgeable, compassionate and always professional. Several things stay with me after all this time. I can't look at "golden rod" coloured paper without thinking of Wanda. Anyone in our class will know why. Admiration of her shoes was essential to starting each morning. But my most lasting memory is Wanda's smile: comforting, warm and genuine. Rest in peace lovely lady.

Wanda was my first head nurse when I settled in Chilliwack as a young woman. She was kind and patient and taught me a lot about working respectfully with mentally ill people. I reconnected with her when I completed my BSN at UFV and remember that period with fondness, too.  At the end of a long career, one remembers the very special colleagues.  Wanda was special.

Wanda was such a positive, supportive colleague and friend. She will be dearly remembered and missed by many. Bob - my deepest sympathies, and so sorry I won't be able to join you on Oct 12.

My condolences to Bob and my family. Wanda was my cousin and I too lived in Lytham St Annes, now living in California. Although Wanda and her father, mother, sister and brothers moved to Canada when I was an infant we maintained contact through the years with mutual visits to England, Canada and California. We laughed that I pronounced Wanda as "Vanda" (as she was known in England) and Wanda called me Robert (as my mother did) although I go by Bob. I fondly remember Wanda for her grace, compassion and humility, notwithstanding her enormous talent. My wife, Karin, and I have Bob and family in our prayers and thoughts.

My Dad and Bob were best friends since Elementary school, Wanda was a very special person in my life, we will miss her.  Bob, we're thinking of you.  Love you.

My condolences to Wanda's family. I was a colleague of her's at University of the Fraser Valley and worked closely with her on many projects. She was one of the kindest people I've ever met.
