Vicki Goldsmith (92) passed away peacefully at the Waverly Seniors Village in Chilliwack on May 10th, 2015. She was much loved by her husband, John Goldsmith, who predeceased her on November 3rd, 2010. Vicki will be deeply missed by her surviving family, Mitchell Clark and Alison Albright of Calgary, Peter and Bonnie Clark of Salmon Arm, John and Maureen Goldsmith of Sardis, and Michael Goldsmith and Pam Rogers of Halifax. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren - Kyle, Nina, Caden, Seth and Isaiah Albright (Calgary), John (Alina) Goldsmith (Calgary), Mark Goldsmith (Carly Binns) (Banff), Christopher Goldsmith (Halifax), and great granddaughter Leyton Goldsmith (Calgary).
Vicki was born in Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan where she completed her school education. She joined the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II where she managed mail service for the Flying Training School, RCAF Aerodrome in Vulcan, Alberta. Following the war, Vicki moved to Vancouver to attend the University of British Columbia. She married Lloyd Clark on March 25, I948. Vicki and Lloyd moved to Calgary, AB in 1950 where they raised their two sons, Mitchell and Peter. After their marriage ended, Vicki moved to Tsawwassen, B.C. where she married John Goldsmith on April 1, 1974. In 1988, Vicki and John moved to Sidney, B.C. where they lived for many happy years. Vicki loved daily walks along the ocean, travelling to different parts of the world, and spending time with her family and many friends. She will always be remembered for her indomitable spirit and enormous capacity for joy and love.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Waverly Seniors village staff for the wonderful care and loving kindness they provided Vicki throughout the past five years. They would also like to thank Dr B. Voth, Dr Swann and Chilliwack Hospice Society for their care and support.
At Vicki's request there will be no Funeral Service. Condolences may be sent to Henderson's Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Chilliwack, B.C
