Dear Carol,Ken, and Mary Jo.....This goes a long way back....when Rob was
2/1 or 3...you ( Carol.. Wallie and Rob ) had come to visit us after Karl ( Robs cousin ) was born...we were living in an apartment at UBC. Rob was standing in our living room looking at an abstract painting on the wall ( it was approx. 4 feet square and consisted of vertical strokes of paint ( many colours ) on half of it and horizontal strokes on the other half ) Rob was standing there for the longest time looking at it when I walked by him.He says to me "Auntie Val, look what someone did to your picture. " I cannot remember what I said to him but under my breath I said "that is one smart boy " and I never forgot it.
