Norm is survived by Delores O’Reilly, his wife of nearly 53 years.
He also leaves behind his son Jason O’Reilly of Kelowna, B.C., and his daughter Kara Kidwell of Chilliwack, B.C.
He enjoyed sharing a beer with his son in law Daryl Kidwell, talking hockey with grandson Coby and joking with his granddaughter Nola Kidwell. He still has many nieces and nephews living, who’s company he greatly enjoyed. After planting home base in the Shuswap area for over 38 years, his daughter moved them to Chilliwack to have them close by. Once in Chilliwack however he missed his visits to his brother’s house with his sister in law Anne and the chocolates she provided him! He was predeceased by all his brothers and his sister. Norm was a Teamster Warehouseman from the late 1960’s until he retired in 2000 at the age of 60.
Though he claimed to never want to visit with people, he could always be found in the midst of a rousing and often controversial conversation. You could always tell who Norm cared about as they were the ones who he preferred to banter with in a joking manner. He always knew the names of the neighborhood dogs, and liked to live a simple life. He will be greatly missed by those that loved him.
