Mona Margaret Bouchard

She is lovingly remembered by her children; Rachel (David), Liza (Robert) and Shawn (Marguerite), grandchildren; Corey (Christina), Deanna (Christopher), Karl (Leah), Craig (SongJoo), Kevin (TaiWei), Nolan, Blake, Monique (Austin), Andrew, Evan and Sophie, eleven great-grandchildren and brother Richard (Odette), as well as many in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Predeceased by her husband Ernest, parents Francis & Elizabeth and siblings Eddie (Shirley), Rita (Elmer) and Eileen (Leo).

She was born on February 18, 1943 in Somerset, Manitoba. Mona was the youngest of five siblings and grew up on a small farm. Mona married Ernie at age eighteen following which their life together consisted of dozens of adventurous moves and jobs in western Canada and California.

Ernie passed in 1992. After this, Mona moved to Coquitlam near her best friend Sally Martin. She loved the many experiences they shared together. Also during this time, Mona took great pride in her work at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Retiring in 2005, Mona joined Rachel and David to share orchard living in the sunny Okanagan. They moved to Popkum in 2011 where Mona quietly spent the rest of her life.

Mona loved and trusted God. Her faith sustained her throughout all of life’s challenges, especially as her health declined.

Above all, Mona was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family will miss her beautiful smile, generosity and grace.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on April 23rd, 2022 at St. Mary’s Church, 8909 Mary Street, Chilliwack BC.

In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made in Mona’s name to Agape Street Ministry.
