Mary was born at the old Abbotsford Hospital on McCallum Rd. and spent her childhood and teenage years in Abbotsford. She attended Simpson Elementary School and Mennonite Educational Institute and spent some years at Simon Fraser University.
She is survived by her son, Michael Arthur Bergen (Shannon), daughter Rosemary Paige Bergen (Steve) and her 2 grandchildren, Silas, age 8 and Violet age 6. Also surviving are Mary's siblings, Menno Bergen, Kathy Bergen Doerksen, Walter Bergen and Alvin Bergen.
She was employed as a Support Worker at The Village, a program of Chilliwack Community Services.
Mary's untimely passing leaves a big hole in the hearts of her family, co-workers and friends. An informal celebration of her life will take place on Friday, April 11, from 3-5 p.m. at Henderson's Funeral Home at 45901 Victoria Avenue, Chilliwack B.C.
