Marilyn passed away at Chilliwack General Hospital. She was born in Erskine, Alberta in the CPR Station where her Grandfather was Station Agent at the time. She was previously married and lived in Calgary, AB where she had three girls,
Lorraine, Deborah and Deanne. In 1968 she met and married her husband Ron, February 14,1970, in Chilliwack. Ron had been serving a career in the Military at CFB Chilliwack, in Vedder Crossing where they were both living at the time. Ron's service took him to CFB North Bay, Ontario where their Daughter Pamela was born in 1972. Next was a posting to CFB Comox, BC where they had a Son,
Donald was born in 1974. They were posted next to CFB Esquimalt, BC in 1984 and finally to his retirement posting at CFS Station Baldy Hughes, Prince George, BC. Ron retired in July 1987 where they moved to Quesnel BC to be near her Mother and Brother, living there for 31 years. While in Quesnel She was what could be called a Professional Volunteer. She managed the Quesnel Food Bank for Ten years. She worked with a few other people in establishing a Palliative Care Unit. Where she volunteered there for 30+ years. She was instrumental in the establishing of a Seniors Shopping Assistant program sponsored by the local Safeway Foods. In 1993 Marilyn was awarded The Commemorative Medal for the 125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada in recognition of her Service to Community. In 2019, Marilyn moved to Agassiz with her Husband. Took up residence at the Agassiz Seniors Community Independent Living Complex where she lived till her passing. Marilyn and her husband did a fair bit of travel. Traveling by Travel Trailer to Alaska with a couple really close friends, Nova Scotia and doing the Oregon Trail with Ron and His Brother and Sister in law. She went on two Alaska Cruises and just this year went on a Cruise to Hawaii with Daughter Pam and husband and Ron's Sister in law Susan-ann and Family. All these trips were greatly enjoyed.
Marilyn is survived by Husband Ron, Daughters Lorraine (Dennis), Deborah (Greg), Deanne (John), Pamela (Andrew), and Son Donald (Jackie), 11 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren. Pre-deceased by Father Donald Fox, Mother Muriel Fox (Nee Lynn), and only sibling, Brother Gary Fox.
Marilyn loved the Lord and had many roles in the Faith Community over the years. She established lifelong friendships and meaningful relationships and could not do enough to help someone. She loved Cooking especially for her Children and Grandchildren. She loved Music and travelling with her husband, family and friends. A private family memorial at the grave site will be held at a later date to intern the ashes.
