On January 30, 2024, Judy left with the angels, in the presence of family and close friends. Her 6-year journey with early Onset Alzheimer syndrome ended after a 3 week stay in the Cascade Hospice Centre. Judy is survived by her husband Kim, sons Robin (Heidi), Jesse (Kathryn), daughter Jena (Jason) and grandchildren Kinga, Brittan, Ethan & Avery. Judy loved spending time with her family, friends and neighbours and spent endless hours in her flower gardens when she wasn’t on a golf course, either locally or internationally. She was passionate about her role as a teaching assistant, working with the special needs students at almost every school in District 33 over her 25-year career.
The family wants to thank Dr. Alex Bartel, for 32 years of dedication including maintaining contact with Judy for 2 years after he retired, and up to her final day. A special thank you as well to the amazing staff and volunteers at the Cascade Hospice for their compassionate care that ensured Judy’s comfort on the final leg of her journey.
There will be an Open House for Judy’s Celebration of Life on Saturday May 25, 2024 to be held from 12:00pm to 4:00pm, in the family yard when the flowers are in bloom in “Baba’s Garden”.
