Judy was a 1971 graduate of Chilliwack Senior Secondary School. She became a well known waitress at the Royal Hotel and Canton Garden restaurants until the effects of Multiple Sclerosis forced her to end her working career. When she was unable to live alone, she moved to Bradley Centre, where she was a resident for over twenty years. Happily, she made many friends there, enjoyed the activities, especially shopping and gardening, and loved the visits by family and friends. Television, music, and collecting Delft and cow ornaments gave her great pleasure. She stayed positive despite the debilitating effects of the disease.
Judy was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Esther Kouwenhoven, and nephew Darren Tunbridge.
Judy is survived by her siblings, Raymond (Lynda) Silbernagel, Roxanne (Robert) Boyd, Richard Kouwenhoven, Laura (Robert) Tunbridge, and nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other relatives.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Markey and the staff at Bradley Centre for their loving care of Judy over the years.
Donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society in Judy’s memory would be appreciated.
