Joann McKay

JoAnn was predeceased by her parents Geraldine and Homer Gourley, her sister Suzan, cousins Bill Smart and Lee Sproule, Rick Mulder, and many cherished relatives.

She leaves her cousin Sally Smart; stepdaughters Tori McKay and Tamara Mulder; and many dear friends. She loved them all.

JoAnn was a successful businesswoman for many years in Vancouver and Chilliwack. She enjoyed volunteering at the Chilliwack Seniors Resource Society, particularly in their Art division.

JoAnn exceled at entertaining. She was creative, embracing the arts, fashion and décor; was an avid outdoor person who loved gardening, kayaking, hiking and travel. Above all, she was a devoted daughter and sister; and a generous, caring and trusted friend.

Known for her sense of humor, JoAnn was an asset to any event and beloved by the younger generation for her views on life. The Nickel clan will miss her laughter at all future occasions and cherish memories of the wonderful times shared over 20 years.

Many thanks to Lynette and Garth for taking care of JoAnn’s much-loved animals. Special thanks to her cherished friends and neighbors for their care and support the past few months.

A Celebration of JoAnn’s life will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Henderson’s Funeral Home, 45901 Victoria Avenue, Chilliwack, BC.
