Iris Marie Penner

Iris passed away peacefully Jan 4, 2023, in her 92 year. A resident of Chilliwack since 1956. Mom was born Iris Marie Avery, in Bassano, Alberta, August 21, 1931, the second child of James and Sarah Avery. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Pete, in 2008. Mom was also predeceased by her one brother Jim, and sisters Irene and Ivy.

She is survived by her sons; Bob (Marian) of Chilliwack, Glen (Evelyn) of 100 Mile House, Russ (Darlene) of Kamloops, Lloyd (Kat) Sorrento; Daughters; Kathy Valenta (Ken Neathway) of Salmo, and Darlene of Chilliwack; 17 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 1 great, great granddaughter. Also survived by her sister Margaret Cavanah of Castlegar, and good friend Robert Peel of Chilliwack.

A memorial service for Iris will be held Monday, January 16, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Henderson's Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 45901 Victoria Ave, Chilliwack, BC V2P2S9. Following the memorial service will be a reception from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Army Navy & Airforce Veterans Club Unit 305, 46268 Yale Road, Chilliwack, British Columbia V2P 2P6.
