Grace Purcell was born October 17, 1920 in Lower Stone Fold, Lancashire, England to mother Emily Maud Heywood (nee Cockerill) and father Fredrick William Heywood. Grace emigrated to Canada from England in 1953. In her later years she lived at the Lynwood Retirement Residence. Grace was a parishioner at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Parish and was an active Catholic Women's League member for many years. Her favourite pastime was knitting until her failing eyesight prevented her from continuing. Her husband, Harold David Purcell passed away in 1999. Grace leaves to mourn her daughter Karen Lawrence (Roger) and Julie Brewer (Neil), her grandchildren Lesley, Shelley, Chrissie and Ashleigh, and her great grandchildren Austyn, Riley, Grace and Eli. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Mary's Catholic Parish, Chilliwack, would be appreciated. Arrangements under the direction of Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home.
