'Bino'
November 26, 1951 - February 26, 2010
On February 26, 2010 Bino lost his battle with cancer, at the Cascade Hospice. He was born to Tommy Fillardeau and Philomena (Sadie) Julian.
In Bino's youth, he participated and enjoyed all types of sports. He was a boxer, canoe puller, and soccer player, winning many matches. His love of sports continued right up to his last days where he would cheer on team Canada during the Olympics, wearing his team Canada T-shirt.
Bino worked as a logger for many years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who provided food for others in community who could not get it for themselves. Bino spent many summer days enjoying his fish camp with family and friends. Fish camp was more than a place to acquire fish; it was and will be a place of teaching, gathering, bonding, and love, just like he wanted it to be.
Bino is survived by two lifetime companions, Rhonda and Geraldine; three sisters, Mabel, Darlene, and Cathy (Deddles), five brothers, Marvin, Brian (Hobo), and Rod (Blackie), Tony and Herb; two daughters, Llorene, Jennifer and a son, Rylan; five Grandchildren, Dominic, Felicia, Mickie, Dylan, and Darwin. Bino was a man blessed with an extremely large and diverse family with adopted families and countless foster children who will miss him greatly.
Bino was a man who was full of life and vitality whom was loved by many, his list of people who call him friend is endless, there was no where he could go without someone stopping him for a few friendly words. He filled his days with activity and chose to live life to the fullest, taking on challenges as they came his way. Bino was a generous man who rarely if ever refused a request for assistance from his many family or friends.
Even in his last days, Bino's vitality and humour showed through, he would joke and tease family, friends and staff of the Hospice, trying to keep everyone’s spirits up. His strength of will is immeasurable, when it seemed times were at there worst and the doctor called the family in, Bino stated very matter of factly “I am not going anywhere......lets have a lunch" and decided he would buy everyone Chinese food with the money he won at keno the day before.
Bino's life will be celebrated on March 5th 2010, at Tzeachten Hall from 12:00pm till 4:00pm
Arrangements under the direction of Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, Chilliwack, BC.
