Donald Toews

Donald Toews, ages 82, passed away at Gillis House on Monday, June 5, 2023. Donald was born on February 10, 1941 in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, the youngest son of Isaac and Katharina Toews (both originally from Russia). When he was 5 months old, the family moved from Saskatchewan to BC where they resided in Chilliwack. He has 6 siblings Kay, Erna, John, Abe, Louise, and twin brother Fred. He worked at Highland Valley Copper Mine for about 24 years until he retired in 2002. When he wasn't busy at work, he loved to go fishing/hunting and enjoyed playing the guitar. In 1977, he married his wife Corinne (née Siemens) and had 2 children, Wayne and Colleen. He also has 2 other children, Donnie and Vincent , from previous relationships. He is survived by his sister Louise; his wife, Corinne; his children, Donnie, Vincent, Wayne, and Colleen; and his granddaughter, Trinity. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June, 19, 2023 at 11:00 am at Greendale Cemetery, 44675 Watson Road.
