David "Rick" Richard Thomas

Aged 63 passed away peacefully with family by his side on July 22, 2022. After a brief battle with cancer. Rick leaves to mourn his loving wife Laura, and 3 children Kaden (Erin) of Abbotsford, Christa of Chilliwack, Daniel (Jennifer) of Kamloops. 10 Grandchildren Brooke, Aiden, Preston, Alexis, Freya, Dean, Conner, Brody, Daxton and Kynslee. Brothers Doug (Sue) of Ladner and Dale (Cindy) of Boston Bar. He was predeceased by his loving parents Norman and Joey Thomas.

Rick grew up in Boston Bar where he briefly worked on the railroad and sawmill. He started with search and rescue when he was 16 years old which led him to his career as a Paramedic with the BC Ambulance Service where he remained for 41 years before retiring.

After retiring Rick became involved with those with special needs setting up a company with his wife Laura to help care for them. He was an avid member of the Cultus Lake golf course where he spent every spare moment and was a part time Marshall. Rick was involved with the Chilliwack Airshow for over 13 years.

Rick will fondly be remembered for his love of family, infectious laugh and love of debating issues. You will forever remain in our hearts.

A Celebration of his life will be held August 23 at 11:00 at the Chilliwack curling club 45550 Spadina Ave, Chilliwack, BC
