November 22, 1916 and was raised on their farm in Greendale, B.C . She was 100 years old.
In 1941 mom married Hugh Shannon, and while he was overseas in World War II, she enlisted in the CWAC and was stationed at Camp Chilliwack. She was proud of her service in the army and would often reminisce about her time there. When Dad came home, they bought a VLA home, where Mom lived until the end of her life. She enjoyed visiting with family, baking, sewing, knitting and was famous for her "Dandelion Wine".
She was predeceased by her husband Hugh, sisters Etta Reitz, Verona and Daphne Shannon, her brother Roydon Braim and grandson Dave Klassen. She is survived by her daughter Karen (Wally) Klassen, son and caregiver, Michael, brother-in-law, Henry Shannon, grandchildren; Eileen (Ed) Menger,
Wendy Guliker, Paul (Denise ) Klassen, Great- Grandchildren; Jonathon, Nicole (Josh), Rebekah, Zachary, Amanda (Matt), David (Alissa), Aaron and Great Great Granchildren; , Barret, Ava, Stella and Archer.
A Celebration of Mom's life will be held at Henderson's Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 2 pm.
