With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Anne Copley Burden on the morning of April 9, 2025, in Agassiz, BC, at the age of 88. Born in Vancouver, Anne lived a life defined by love, warmth, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Anne shared an extraordinary 68-year marriage with her beloved husband, Leroy Burden - a union marked by a lifetime of shared memories. Their love was the foundation of a close-knit family and a beautiful example of lifelong partnership.
She was a cherished mother to Barb Frocklage, Shelley Hyma, and Ken Burden, and a proud and loving grandmother to many grandchildren, each of whom brought her endless joy and pride.
Anne’s greatest passion was her family. She found joy in the kitchen, where her talent for cooking and her love of hosting brought people together. She was known for reading recipes aloud to her family and constantly experimenting with new dishes - her meals were a reflection of her care and creativity. Whether it was a holiday feast or a quiet Sunday dinner, her home was a place of comfort, filled with delicious aromas and laughter. More than anything, Anne loved being surrounded by her family. Simply listening to the conversations, laughter, and stories made her happiest - and true to form, she spent her final hours doing just that, wrapped in the warmth of those she loved most.
Her generous heart, nurturing spirit, and unwavering presence will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
A service was held for close friends and family on Friday, April 11th at All Saints Anglican Church in Agassiz, BC.
