Dear Ann, R.I.P. 
I want to express my deepest condolences to all members of your family, also from my parents, too, because we saw you last time in Cologne 2015 due to your river cruise to Amsterdam. I had the chance to meet you in Berlin 2013 and was able to stay in your wonderful house in Chilliwack for four weeks in autumn 2014. In spring 2017, we planned to see us again in Dresden. I would like to thank you and Bob for the wonderful time since 2006 I was able to share with you and your family members, f. e. Brian. Your open heart and mind will be an everlasting obligation for my future when dealing with straingers, because I'm an Erasmus+ institutional coordinator of a German University of applied Police Sciences. I always will remember the moment, when we met the first time:  I was travelling by the VIA No. 1 "The Canadian" from Toronto to Vancouver and we were sitting together in the dome car. It's possible, that we wouldn´t have recogniced each other, but it's my passion, beeing somewhere and buying the local newspaper because of being interested in the peoples' opinions at the place of my tourist stay.  And so Bob didn't see me as just a tourist, but as local citizen, because the first question he was asking me delt with baseball results of the local team (Toronto Blue Jays) in the Rogers Centre (Sky Dome). I was really surprised and I said to him: "Oh, Sir. I'm sorry. I didn´t see the baseball match, because I'm just a tourist from Germany, staying the first time in Canada on holiday. " Bob was explaing the wonderful and deep impressing Canadian landscape, rushing past outside the train and you, Ann, was sitting there and doing your embroidery (frame), with a calm smile on your face.  At this moment our friendship started. It will survive your's and your husband's live here on earth, just by the power of my mind. The last months I was thinking very often of you. Unfortunately I read this sad condolence news today, just a little bit late.

Our condolences to Ron, Brian and Daryl.  We will miss Ann's wonderful smile and cheerful outlook.

We are in Arizona for the winter and just saw the obit for your Mom.  Ann was my first friend in 1973 when we first moved to Tsw, and we had many wonderful times with your Mom and Dad.  Altho we hadn't seen each other the last few years she came over to see me last summer and we had a wonderful visit catching up and I am so thankful for that.  My heart goes out to all of her family, she will be greatly missed.  Hugs to you all.  Al and Gerry Colter

We were so sad to hear of Ann's passing and send you boys our sincere condolences. Brian was an RMC classmate of Bob's and we enjoyed our times with your parents immensely.  Brian and Sheila Wattie, Ottawa, ON.

What a wonderful person Ann was - the same goes for Bob. I owe them so much for their hospitality in 88. Good memories of my visits to them and their visits to Holland over the years. They are a shining example of how to live a good life.
