Shane led a remarkable life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Roberts, his mother Rowena (Jackie) Jones. Stepfather Majure Jones, sister Patsy Creech, brothers Billy Roberts Jr. and Mark Roberts.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lee Ann Roberts, to whom he was married for 20 cherished years. Shane is also survived by his children Jennifer Parsons (John), Chrissy Moland, Shane Roberts Jr. (Ashleigh), Kimberly Thornton (Elijah), stepchildren Jennifer Sylestine (Patrick), Jordan Mizzell (John) , grandchildren Courtney Parsons, Kelsie Bishop (Bailey), Katelyn Moland, Natalie Moland, Aubree Parsons, Leigha Moland, Ethan Parsons, Tyler Moland, Mason Parsons, Collins Roberts, Shiloh Sylestine, great-grandchild Skylar Parsons, sisters Dani Green (Brian), Sunday Roberts, brother Randy Roberts.
Shane spent his early years in Cleveland, Ohio, attending Shaker Heights High School. His passion for the outdoors led him to hobbies such as coon hunting, squirrel hunting, fishing, and riding horses. He was a dedicated and successful businessman, starting his career as a crew foreman for Monroe Roofing before venturing into the used oil business. In 1983, he founded Roberts Waste Oil and later partnered with Calvin Hope to establish R & H Waste Oil Company, where he worked until his retirement in 2022.
Known for his extraordinary wit and larger-than-life personality, Shane cherished his family above all else. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who always put his loved ones first. His kindness, humor, and love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In his final days, Shane was surrounded by his family at Grandview Medical Center and UAB Hospital before entering hospice care. He was lovingly looked after by his children and wife, with special thanks to his hospice nurses Kelly and Hannah.
A memorial for Shane will take place on April 28, 2024 at 4777 Mcgowans Ferry Rd, Childersburg, AL from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Flowers, donations, and shared memories or condolences are welcome. Feel free to bring a dish of food between the hours of 11 am and 1 pm on April 28, to share in remembrance of Shane W. Roberts.
