I just found out about Fr. Eddy's passing by accident...Remembering him from St. Julie's in Tinley Park and his outgoing personality.  He somehow talked my husband Bob into forming a men's club and then they laid the sod at the newly built church...He was so full of life.  After being transferred to the north side, my brother Tom USA  and his Korean wife Pyong  were here in IL. on vacation. They needed to get their daughter baptized. I called him at his Korean parish and he set the baptism, no questions asked...what a guy....many condolences to his family and friends..For the short time he was in our parish and lives, he made such a difference...God Bless

Father Bill is going to be greatly missed he was a wonderful man! I will always remember our family get together's and how much fun he was to talk to and play cards with.  My prayers are with his family at this time! He was an amazing brother, uncle, great uncle, and friend!

Fr. Bill was a conduit of God's grace to me, a wise & encouraging confessor, who shared God's mercy & understanding in his gentle & sometimes humorous words.  My sincere sympathy to Judy & Cathy & the nieces & nephews he loved so much.

I am so sorry to hear about his passing! He was a wonderful pastor at St. Kieran Church and a compassionate caregiver to those of us who needed his guidance and help. Fr. Bill - What a shock to hear of his passing.  I've known Fr. Bill since I was a teen and he was put in charge of our youth group while serving at St. Bart's in Waukegan, where my uncle (Rev. John Kuzinskas) was also pastor. I will never forget Fr. Bill's kindness to my uncle during his final months, which were spent at Loyola Hospital. Although it was difficult for him to breathe, Fr. Bill made the long trek through the hospital hallways to ICU to bring a smile and encouragement to his friend, Fr. John.  I will never forget his selflessness.  He truly was a great man of faith.  Condolences to his sisters and may he rest in peace.

Fr. Bill was a great man and a great priest and his unexpected death leaves me with many regrets. We remember that Fr. Eddy always had a smile, a kind word for everyone, and a willingness to share in your life.  We enjoyed his leadership and spiritual guidance at St. Kieran Parish. Father married our son and daughter and they, too, has fond memories of him.  We know that God has welcomed his faithful servant into his kingdom.  We pray for him and his family. We know Father Eddy as our Pastor, spiritual mentor, and most of all, an
amazing, kind and concerned friend.  He was always there for us whenever there was a question or concern and it was always better right away with a smile a hug and prayer!  This is a great loss to all of us who loved and respected him. Knowing Father Eddy as we do, there will be some new job for him on God's staff continuing his kind and loving ways!

Wonderful years with Fr. Bill on the faculty of Quigley North. His friendly, forthright, upbeat and humorous approach to people and life made him a pleasure to know and work with.

What a wonderful man & dedicated priest!  Fr. Bill Eddy has been my friend, my mentor & my spiritual guide for nearly 15 years, since he served  as pastor at St. Kieran's and I belonged to St. Joseph's, the parish "next door.",  He was open to everyone and shared his faith, his wisdom, his compassion, his  understanding , his love, and his just plain common sense with so many of us.   He loved his family; he loved being a priest & a pastor.  Fr. Eddy shared his ":stories" his aspirations and plans for St.Hilary's  and many recollections of   his childhood.   Thank you so very much, Fr. Bill.   I  am heartbroken and will miss you so much though I am sure you are with our good God Whom you loved so much.  May he hold you in the palm of His hand.....SOME PEOPLE COME INTO OUR LIVES & QUICKLY GO;      OTHERS STAY FOR A TIME AND LEAVE FOOTPRINTS ON OUR HEARTS....AND WE ARE NEVER, EVER THE SAME.....I will never be the same.

I know Father Bill heard "Welcome home my faithful servant". I saw the black bunting at St Hiliary's and knew in my heart it was he.  I loved going to confession to him.  He sought not to be consoled, but to console.  What a truly wonderful soul.

Thank you Father Eddy for listening and providing spiritual guidance in the most trying times of our lives. You lifted our spirit through counsel, in mass and with your presence. Rest in peace Father Eddy.

What great memories I have  of "Billy" growing up as a kid on Loomis Street.  He was always the smartest kid on the block!  My condolences to Judy and Cathy on their loss.    He was a great friend and priest.

Fr. Bill, a dear and loving friend since his deaconate year at St. Bartholomew in 1975.  Always there for you in your time of need.  A kind and loving man who heard and answered God's call.
