It is with great sadness that the family of Tony Romero A.K.A “Sunshine” announces his passing on April 1st 2019 at 25 years young. Tony passed away in his home in Mount Prospect surrounded by his family and friends after a long battle fighting cancer since he was 20 years young.
He leaves behind his Mother Alba Luz Romero Herrera, Brother Elvis Antoni Romero and Girlfriend Ashley Lyn Poethkow, and is now joining his Father Jose Antonio Varela Salas.
Throughout Tony’s entire life, including his 5 year battle with cancer, he has always kept a positive outlook on life. He has always put everyone else before himself. This is what gave him his nickname "Sunshine", because he brought light to everyone who was apart of his life.
Tony had many passions in life, some of those being: working with and inspiring children everyday at his job, attending as many WWE events as possible, skateboarding with his friends at different skateparks, meeting new people everywhere he went, and spending quality time with the people he loved most.
A visitation for Tony “Sunshine” Romero’s life will be held on Sunday, April 7th from 3-9pm, and funeral service starting Monday at 9:00 a.m. at Malec and Sons funeral home followed by a procession to Queen of Heaven Cemetery for a 11:00 a.m. graveside service.
Anyone who was lucky enough to have known Tony, is welcome to come and celebrate his life with us.
