Thomas Looney, Lt. C.F.D. Ret., age 89, U.S. Army Korean War Vet. Due to his humility, Tom’s family was just recently made aware of his Purple Heart Recipient, Korean War Presidential Unit Citation, Korean Service Medal and Army Combat Infantry Badge; Beloved husband of Lynn L. Looney (nee Adams); Loving father of Terry C.P.D. (Katie) and Denny (Amy) Looney; Cherished grandfather of Jack, Quinn, Gavin, Emma and Ava; Proud son of the late John Looney of Milltown Malbay, County Clare, Ireland and Della Looney (nee Griffin) of Ballheigue, County Kerry, Ireland; Dear brother of Ann (the late Don) Hickey, the late John Cpt. C.P.D. Ret. (Kay), Joe (the late Pauline) Looney and Therese (the late Al) Wojnowski; Kind brother-in-law of Tom (Donna), Tim (Jane) Adams and Shannon (Bennie) Wilson; Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Thrill Show, CYO basketball and invented the one handed jump shot, in charge of Fire Commissioner Quinn’s neighborhood pools, and a life of service to his country, city of Chicago as a Fireman and most importantly to his family.
